ASC (Ayman Solar Concentrator) technology represents the 5th generation of CSP, offering significant advantages over other renewable energy technologies and effectively addressing all past challenges associated with previous CSP generations →
Superior Performance / Operation / Economics
ASC is a ground-breaking technology capable of harnessing solar thermal energy more efficiently than any other concentrator technology.
ASC technology achieves up to 100% optical efficiency and +95% thermal efficiency (Solar to heat).
This leads to superior performance and the lowest Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) among other solar or wind technologies with storage, nuclear and even fossil fuel technologies.
Electricity: US$ < 5c/kWh
Process heat: US$ < 2c/kWh
An ASC plant integrates with existing thermal storage technologies (steam turbines for electricity production), enabling reliable 24/7 energy production without any intermittency.
To achieve the most cost-effective energy production, good solar resource is essential.
BLU NXT typically recommends a Direct Normal Irradiation (DNI) of 4.0 kWh/m2 or higher (the Sunshine Belt). However, it is important to note that ASC technology is versatile and can also operate efficiently in areas with lower DNI levels, though this will impact the overall cost of energy production.
Renewable energy technologies generate carbon-neutral energy.
However, ASC technology goes a step further:
ASC manufacturing avoids the use of rare earth minerals or toxins, unlike PV panels, primarily incorporating steel and aluminum. After its targeted operational lifespan of 50 years, ASC concentrators can be recycled by melting them down and repurposing the materials for new concentrators.
During its operation, ASC technology does not pose a threat to birds or other wildlife, distinguishing it from other wind or concentrator technologies.
